How does Premique work?
Once menopause is reached the periods will stop occurring. This is due to lowered levels of the hormones oestrogen and progesterone. Premique is a continuous form of combined HRT, meaning that each tablet contains both conjugated oestrogens and progesterone.
When menopause is reached, women may experience a number of unpleasant symptoms that include hot flashes and night sweats. By replacing the hormones that are lost during the time of menopause, Premique can relieve some of the unpleasant symptoms.
After menopause, it is possible for a woman to develop osteoporosis due to weakening and thinning of the bones. This happens because ovaries produce less female hormones while in the time of menopause and therefore the bone has increased risk of fracturing. Premique also helps in this case as it lowers the risk of bone thinning by replacing the required hormones.
How do I take Premique?
Premique comes in blue, oval-shaped tablets and should always be taken exactly as the doctor recommends. Premique is prescribed at the lowest dose for the shortest time and should be taken every day at the same time of the day.

- Blood circulation disorder or history of blood clot
- Heart condition or history of heart attack
- Recently had an unexpected or heavy vaginal bleeding
Before starting hormone replacement therapy, a patient should consult a doctor provide his or her medical history. Occasionally doctors examine breasts and/or the abdomen and may also do an internal examination.
Once the HRT has been started, the patient should have regular check-ups of at least once a year to discuss the benefits and risks of continuing the treatment. Do not divide or crush the tablet as this could affect the way Premique works.
