How does Nexium work?
Nexium contains the active ingredient esomeprazole. Esomeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor medication. They work by blocking the acid production by the stomach. Esomeprazole can also help heal damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid. The acid can also irritate and cause inflammation of the lining of the food pipe (reflux oesophagitis).
How do I take Nexium?
Nexium is most often prescribed as a capsule or tablet to be taken orally. It is usually taken one hour before a meal at the same time daily or as directed by your doctor.
Side effects?
All medicines do have side effects associated with taking them however not everyone will suffer from them. All medication will come with side effect information from the manufactures. It is also best you talk to your doctor if you have any concerns as they maybe able to change the dose you are currently taking or change medications. Common side effects include:
- Diarrhea/constipation
- Headache
- Skin reaction
- Excess gas
- Stomach ache
Please see your doctor for more information and to check if the medication conflicts with any existing medical conditions or medications you are currently taking.
How do I buy Nexium online?
First you need to obtain a valid prescription through an online consultation to purchase Nexium as it is a prescription medication. This is a free and short consultation from the privacy of your home. This replaces the face-to-face consult you would normally have with a doctor. Once you have been approved the medication will be sent out to you.

I have been taking 40mg of Nexium twice a day for about a year. Prior to that I was taking a single 40mg dose per day, however I began to have more problems with acid reflux. I began to lose my voice and had frequent chest pains. The doctor doubled my dose and it seems to have helped. No more chest pains and my voice is normal again. I did everything the doctor suggested, I don’t eat or drink things that would make it worse. I elevated my bed, stopped drinking coffee, etc. Now seeing reports on television how taking Nexium for long periods can increase the risk of heart attacks, heart failure, and now dementia, my concern level is high. I’m just wondering what other people have done to help cut back on Nexium. thank you.

Used Nexium for over 14 years. You need to stop taking this medication or any acid reducer medication 3 days before use of any antibiotics. IF you do not then you can get a infection that is quit dangerous called Clostridia Difficile or C. Diff which gives you diarrhea and paralyzed colon! The bacteria eats away at the lining of the Large Intestine until you bleed out, have diarrhea, and colon cancer and/or polyps! Use only for 3 days and stay off until you start having symptoms again; then use it again for 3 days, (72 hours) as that is how long your colon needs to regenerate! STOP! Then repeat! If you have trouble sleeping use Benadryl intermittently!

Heartburn has interfered with my life for years and I can now honestly say Nexium has transformed my life. What an astounding difference – I could not believe it. My daughter recommended I try it, to say I was sceptical is an understatement. I think this is a wonder pill. No more waking in the night and taking antacid liquids or tablets. No more popping antacid tablets numerous times a day. What a fantastic relief. Brilliant really isn’t strong enough to explain the difference.

I was prescribed Nexium 40mg approx 2 years ago at our local hospital after being diagnosed as having a quantity of small duodenal ulcers. No side effects were evident for the first week or so but then I started to feel aches and pains all too easily, later developing mood swings, quite extreme at times. I informed my doctor who dismissed my claims,( I do not lie! )After just under the two years of taking Nexium, I decided to take things into my own hands, I discovered Slippery Elm capsules. I am now into my fifth month of taking only one capsule a day having weaned myself off the Nexium, interspersed with Slippery Elm in the first week. I now have no side effects and with care have little or no acid indigestion.

I started taking Omeprazole 20mg 25 years ago, then continue with esomeprazole and Nexium, no stop, I can’t quit, heartburn is coming back immediately even taking only water, no food. With Nexium, I’m able to eat almost all food without heartburn. Regardless of potential side effect, the doctor advised not to try to quit. My acid reflux is not treatable but Nexium perfectly works work me. No side effects or discomfort >20 years of my experience
